Water Damage...
Water damage is generally caused by water from within the house or business. A broken pipe (supply or drain line), overflow of a plumbing fixture(s), water escaped from an A/C unit, fridge, washer, water heater, garbage disposal or other appliance. It could also be water intrusion from a roof leak, broken window, or other. Think of it as falling water. The one exception that comes to mind is a slab leak. Which is usually caused by broken pipe in the slab/foundation.

Flood Damage...
*** VERY IMPORTANT***
Basic Flood definition: A Flood is water covering 2 or more properties, water coming from outside in. FEMA's definition of a FLOOD: A general and temporary condition of partial or complete inundation of normally dry land areas from: (1) The overflow of inland or tidal waters; (2) The unusual and rapid accumulation or runoff of surface waters from any source; (3) Mudslides (i.e., mudflows) which are proximately caused by flooding and are akin to a river of liquid and flowing mud on the surfaces of normally dry land areas, as when earth is carried by a current of water and deposited along the path of the current. A flood inundates a floodplain. Most floods fall into three major categories: riverine flooding, coastal flooding, and shallow flooding. Alluvial fan flooding is another type of flooding more common in the mountainous western states. Reference FEMA website for more detailed info. |

Use a wet vac, a mop and bucket, or call in professional help to remove the water. Professionals have water extraction equipment, dry out fans (air movers), dehumidifiers, plus other specialized equipment, not to mention the man power.
Water can cause damage to the floors, cabinets, furniture, rugs, carpets, baseboards, walls, wood, and other materials. Water travels, finds it's way into places. We've seen it come from storms, appliances, broken pipes, A/C units, overflowing toilets, fire sprinkle systems, roof leaks, and much more. |
Water can create thousands and thousands of dollars in repairs. Most homeowners are unaware of what their insurance policy covers. Your insurance policy might have coverage for the entire loss, not only to make repairs either.
